The Certificate Programme in Human Resources Management and Practices provides an entry level qualification, suitable for school leavers whose career aspiration is HR Management. Learners will obtain a broad overview of all aspects of HR Management. This will enable them to proceed either: to a junior generalist position in a personnel or human resources department, or alternatively if the programme generates an interest in a particular speciality within human resources, to proceed to one of the specialist programmes offered by the Institute.
As with the Hotel Management programme, the course is developed and the classes presented on the Three Pillars Approach, namely professional development, theoretical knowledge, and the acquisition of practical skills.
Over the last decade, the professionalisation of the human resources field has developed significantly, and the course aims to provide a broad general introduction and grounding producing young practitioners who through further study and continuous professional development will be able to rise to leadership positions within the organisations or institutions they serve.

We are offering a full time 6 month certificate that offers the following content:
The course will provide opportunities for the development of oral and written skills to support young human resource professionals in the workplace including appropriate knowledge of the management of HIV/Aids, and the opportunity to develop mathematical skills required to develop and monitor a budget within their human resources role.
In addition, the course will provide learners with the opportunity to develop and present a short training programme.
The programme consists of a fixed curriculum of required modules that provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills on how this is applied within an HR department. Learners will be encouraged to read newspapers and access websites and to participate in discussion, developing an understanding of how the theoretical course content is applied within the workplace.
